The most famous tourist destination in Mathura is Shri Krishna Janmabhumi, where Lord Krishna was born. You can see here the jail where Krishna was born. Vrindavan is also a surreal destination with thousands of temples and ancient sites. It is one of the oldest cities and an important destination for Lord Krishna's devotees. The city's name has been derived from Vrinda, which means basil, and van, which refers to small groves at Seva Kunj and Nidhivan. You'll find here many temples of Radha and Lord Krishna, the most famous ones being the world-famous ISKCON temple and Banke Bihari temple.
At around 6 am, our driver will pick you up from Delhi/NCR, and you will enjoy a scenic drive to Vrindavan and Mathura. You'll have to inform the driver about your desired pick-up point in advance so that there isn't any unnecessary delay on the day of the trip. Mathura is an ancient city where Lord Krishna took birth. You'll explore the famous sites of Mathura and then proceed to Vrindavan. After sightseeing Vrindavan's popular attractions, you will return back to Delhi by the evening. You will be dropped by our driver to your desired location and this would mark the end of the tour.
Places to visit in Mathura
- Govardhan Hill : Govardhan Hill is a popular destination mentioned in the Holy Bhagavad Gita. All the worshippers of Lord Krishna worship the hill's stones. The hill is made of sandstone and has a height of 80 ft.
- Dwarkadhish Temple : Constructed in 1814, the Dwarkadhish Temple boasts magnificent architecture and paintings. Among its many works of art are a series of ceiling paintings that depict the various aspects of Lord Krishna's life. This temple is renowned for its unique beauty and historical significance.
- Nand Gaon : Located in the Nandishwar Hills is the ancient town of Nand Gaon, which served as the adopted home for Lord Krishna's parents. Scattered throughout the hills are several temples, including Udhav Kyaro, Nritya Gopal, Gopinath, and Nand Nandan.
- Radha Kund : To cleanse your soul and wash away sins, take a dip into the waters of Radha Kund. This revered site near Govardhan Hill is known for its magical water. The undying love between Radha and Krishna is symbolized by Radha Kund.
- Birla Mandir : On the Mathura-Vrindavan Road lies the Birla Mandir. It was built in honor of Lord Lakshmi Narayan and is renowned for its magnificent architecture and paintings.
Places to visit in Vrindavan
- Banke Bihari Temple : Banke Bihari Mandir is dedicated to Lord Krishna. It is among the seven famous temples of Thakur of Vrindavan. The unique thing about this temple is that the image of Lord Krishna appears in the form of a child in the Tribhanga position.
- Nidhivan : Nidhivan is one of the most mysterious places in Vrindavan. It is believed that Lord Krishna visits this place every night to perform Raas Leela with Gopis. Nobody is allowed to enter Nidhivan in the evening.
- Radha Raman Temple : This temple was constructed by Gopala Bhatta Gosvami in 1542. The main deity of the temple is believed to be self-manifested from the Shaligram-Shila. You won't be able to see here an idol of Radha but a crown has been placed near Lord Krishna's statue depicting the presence of Radha.
- ISKCON Vrindavan : This temple is situated in Vrindavan's Raman Reti area and is renowned for its splendid architecture and grand design. The temple is also called Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir and is dedicated to Lord Krishna and his brother Balram.
- Prem Mandir : The architectural beauty of the Prem Mandir makes it one of its kind in Vrindavan. It is also called the "Temple of God's Love" and is dedicated to Sita Ram and Radha Krishna. Adorned with intricate carvings and constructed out of white marble, this temple is one of the most sacred places in Vrindavan.
