Upon your arrival at the Madurai Airport/ Railway station, the tour representative will then help you in your transfer to your hotel room and directs you towards the check-in process. And with your successful check-in process, relax for a bit in your hotel room.
After some time, please proceed towards a sightseeing tour to Madurai. You will be visiting three of the major landmarks in this city i.e. ThirumalaiNayakkar Mahal, Gandhi Memorial, and Meenakshi temple.
ThirumalaiNayakkar Mahal is a 17th-century old palace briefly presenting a classical fusion of Dravidian and Rajput architectural design. You can revel in its beauty and you will also be able to capture some of your royal moments at this palace. The palace also hosts a light and sound show every day in the evening around 6:45 pm so after your day tour will be over then, you can here and enjoy that show.
After that, you will be visiting the Gandhi Museum which is only 3 km away from this place. You will find yourself walking along a tree-lined road during this short trip. On reaching the museum, you can check out the sections accounting the Indian struggle for freedom and a separate section exhibiting some rare objects related to the life of Mahatma Gandhi.
In the afternoon, you will walk on a spiritual tour to Meenakshi Temple. It is a 15-acre temple complex which is guarded by gateway towers made of multi-colored images of gods and demons. You will enter the temple complex through the eastern entrance, you will then see a 1000 pillars hall which is intricately designed by life-size figures. Then, head towards paying a homage to the goddess Meenakshi and after that, you are free to spend the day in whatever way you like. You can stay here and enjoy Aarti rituals at night.
Otherwise, you can do a little shopping outside the Meenakshi temple. You can buy some cotton fabrics and hand-woven work from here.
Finally, get back to your hotel room for an overnight stay.
