After enjoying a delicious breakfast, the first sight on our tour today is Kamakhya Temple, located at Nilachal Hill. This is a highly revered temple as it is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. If you wish to avoid queues, you can buy a pass at just ₹501/person from the temple counters.
Also, while you’re at Nilachal Hill, you have a choice to visit a number of other temples, such as:
- Tripureswari Temple
- Maa Tara Temple
- Maa Kali Temple
- Maa Chhinnamasta Temple
- Dhumavati Temple
- Bagalamukhi Temple
- Maa Bhubaneswari Temple
- Maa Bandurga Temple
These temples are in the vicinity of Kamakhya Temple and therefore, it’s recommended to visit these temples as well and seek Darshan.
After the temple visits, next up is a tour to Umananda Temple. To reach there, get on the ferry (2 hour journey) to Peacock Island. This island is named so because of its beauty and shape. Another interesting thing about this island is that it is the smallest island in the world.
If there’s still time left, we recommend going for shopping at Fancy Bazaar to purchase souvenirs.
At last, you’ll be transported to Guwahati Airport/Railway Station from where you can continue your home-bound journey.
