Kedarnath Yatra Itinerary from Delhi

Day 01 Delhi to Haridwar

Arrive at Delhi Railway Station or Airport where our driver will meet and transfer you to Haridwar (approximately 250 km, 5–6 hours). After checking in to your hotel, visit Har Ki Pauri in the evening for the Ganga Aarti β€” a daily ritual performed by priests on the Ganges bank, accompanied by oil lamps, chants, and hymns. Har Ki Pauri is the most revered Ghat in Haridwar, believed to be where Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva left their footprints. Haridwar is one of the four Kumbh Mela sites and considered a gateway to the Char Dhams.

Also visit Mansa Devi Temple β€” one of the Panch Tirths of Haridwar, situated on Bilwa Parvat. The temple is believed to be the place where drops of elixir fell accidentally from Garuda, Lord Vishnu's vehicle.

Overnight at Haridwar with breakfast.

Day 02 Haridwar to Guptkashi

After breakfast, drive to Guptkashi via Rudraprayag and Devprayag (approximately 220 km, 7–8 hours). En route you can see the Mandakini River at Tilwara β€” its source is the Chorabari Glacier near Kedarnath. Guptkashi sits in the Mandakini valley and holds deep religious significance: legend says the Pandavas searched for Lord Shiva here, who hid in the region, and the town takes its name from this episode. During winter months, Kedarnath pandas reside in Guptkashi, and the Kedarnath deity passes through the town when the temple closes.

On arrival, visit Ardhanarishwar Temple β€” the idol here represents the half-man, half-woman form of Shiva and Parvati, spreading the message of equality. Also visit Vishwanath Temple, where Lord Shiva is believed to have proposed to Goddess Parvati.

Manikarnika Kund, inside the Vishwanath complex, is another notable site β€” the Shiva Linga here is believed to be bathed by waters from both the Ganga and Yamuna.

Overnight at Guptkashi with breakfast.

Day 03 Guptkashi to Kedarnath and back

Option 1 β€” By Helicopter: Our driver transfers you to the helipad (Guptkashi, Sersi, or Phata β€” as per the reporting time given by the operator). Board the helicopter for a short flight to the Kedarnath helipad, close to the temple. Perform Puja and seek the blessings of Lord Kedar. After Darshan, return by helicopter; our driver will be waiting to bring you back to the hotel.

Option 2 β€” By Trek: Our driver drops you at Sonprayag early in the morning. From Sonprayag, take the government shared jeep to Gaurikund (5 km) β€” all private vehicles are stopped at Sonprayag without exception. The trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath temple is 16 km one way and takes 6–8 hours at a normal pace. Start the trek by 7:00 AM. Pony and palki (palanquin) are also available at Gaurikund at additional cost. After darshan, descend to Gaurikund and return to Sonprayag. Our driver will be at the pre-shared meeting point at Sonprayag β€” our team sends the exact location before your departure day.

Kedarnath Darshan Timings: 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Temple closes 3–5 PM for rituals. Mobile phones and cameras banned within 50 metres. The average summer temperature at Kedarnath is around 20Β°C, but it can drop sharply at night β€” carry warm clothing even in summer.

Overnight at Guptkashi with breakfast.

Day 04 Guptkashi to Rishikesh / Haridwar

After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh via Devprayag (approximately 200 km, 6–7 hours). Rishikesh is situated in the Himalayan foothills on the banks of the Ganges and is known as the gateway to the four Char Dhams β€” Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.

Visit Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula β€” the iconic suspension bridges over the Ganges. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat, where the Saraswati, Ganga, and Yamuna rivers are believed to meet. Rishikesh also has many ashrams offering insight into yoga and meditation.

After exploring Rishikesh, continue to Haridwar (24 km, approximately 40 minutes).

Overnight at Haridwar with breakfast.

Day 05 Haridwar to Delhi

After breakfast, check out and drive from Haridwar to Delhi (approximately 250 km, 5–6 hours via NH-58). Our driver will drop you at Delhi Railway Station or Airport, completing your 5-day Kedarnath yatra from Delhi.
