Itinerary Details

Day 1 - Arrival Indore - Ujjain (55 kms - 1.5 hrs)

Start your trip with a pick-up from anywhere in Indore, the airport, or the railway station. Our Namaste India team member will meet you and take you around Ujjain for sightseeing. If you’ve booked a guide, they will come with a driver and help you all day.

After pick-up, you will start your tour and visit-

In the evening, attend the Aarti at Mahakaleshwar Temple. After sightseeing, check into the hotel for an overnight stay in Ujjain.

Day 2 - Ujjain - Omkareshwar (139 kms - 3.5 hrs)

After breakfast, proceed to Omkareshwar, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Take a holy dip in the river and pray at the Omkareshwar Temple.
Don’t miss crossing Mamleshwar Setu, the hanging bridge, where the town looks magical from above (a great photo spot). Visit Omkareshwar Temple and see the 108 Shivlingas. You can also see where the Kaveri River meets the Narmada.
Next, visit the Mamleshwar Temple. Its walls have old writings from 1063 AD. Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar supported it, and now it is protected by the ASI.
After this, do the Narmada Parikrama. It’s a 7 km circular path around Omkar Hill. The path has some stairs and small hills, with temples and ashrams. The path takes you to the place where the Narmada River joins another river. You will also enjoy a boat ride on the Narmada (paid separately).
If there’s enough time, you can also visit the Statue of Oneness, dedicated to Adi Shankaracharya.
Overnight stay will be at Omkareshwar.

Day 3 - Omkareshwar - Maheshwar - Mandu (213 - 230 km/ 5-6 hours)

Begin your morning with a trip to Maheshwar, a town once ruled by Queen Ahilya Bai Holkar. She built so many temples and Ghats.
Explore Ahilya Fort, then visit Akhileshwar Temple within the fort, and spend some time at Narmada Ghat. If time permits, enjoy boating at Narmada Ghat (paid separately).
Later travel to Mandu. Explore Roopmati Pavilion, Echo Point (shout and hear your voice bounce back), Dai Ka Mahal, Baz Bahadur's Palace (famous love story of King Baz Bahadur with Roopmati) and Jami Masjid (a large mosque built in Afghan style).
Overnight stay at the hotel in Mandu.

Note- The tour could face delays or route changes in Shravan due to the Kanwar Yatra.

Day 4 - Mandu - Indore (97km / 2 hours)

After breakfast, explore the Royal Enclave of Mandu. Don’t miss Jahaz Mahal, Hindola Mahal (perfect for photos), the Darwazas of Mandu and Hoshang Shah's Tomb (one of India’s first marble monuments).
Later, drive to Indore. If time permits visit Rajwada and Lalbagh Palace. Indore is also famous for its sweet dishes.
At the end of the trip, we will drop you at Indore Airport or Railway Station.
