Char Dham Tour Package by Helicopter

Tour Overview

Char Dham Yatra is one of the very sacred journeys through which one is subjected to attain salvation after death. For the spiritual connection with the Almighty and the chance of getting free from the cycle of birth, millions of devotees embark on this journey every year.

With our 5 Nights and 6 Days Char Dham Yatra by helicopter, you cover all four Himalayan Dhams — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath — from Dehradun's Sahastradhara Helipad. The package includes 5-star hotel stay at each Dham, daily breakfast, helicopter transfers between all Dhams, and VIP Darshan passes at every temple. What normally requires 10–12 days of mountain road travel is completed in 6 days.

This Chardham helicopter Yatra is especially suited for senior citizens, families with elderly members, and pilgrims who cannot undertake long treks. Helicopter operations follow DGCA safety regulations — pilots are mountain-certified, and each flight is weather-verified before departure. The 2026 season opened with Yamunotri and Gangotri on April 19, Kedarnath on April 22, and Badrinath on April 23. Tourist registration on the official Char Dham portal is mandatory — our team handles this for all pilgrims booked with us.

What is the drop-off helipad for Gangotri?

The helipad for Gangotri is at Harsil — from where it is a 25 km road journey to Gangotri temple. For Yamunotri, the helipad is at Kharsali, which is 6 km from the temple via a trail (pony/palki available).

How long is the helicopter journey from Dehradun to Yamunotri?

Approximately 45 minutes from Sahastradhara Helipad, Dehradun to Kharsali Helipad (Yamunotri). Flight time varies slightly with weather conditions and air traffic.

Can senior citizens or differently-abled pilgrims take the helicopter Yatra?

Yes — the helicopter package is specifically designed for senior citizens and pilgrims who cannot trek or undertake long road journeys. Mobility assistance is available at each helipad. At Yamunotri, pony or palki is available for the 6 km trail to the temple.

Is there a weight limit for the helicopter?

Yes. DGCA regulations require a maximum of 80 kg per passenger including hand baggage. Weigh-in is done at Sahastradhara Helipad before boarding. Passengers beyond this limit may be asked to offload luggage or may face boarding restrictions.

Is tourist registration mandatory for Char Dham Yatra 2026?

Yes. Registration on the official Uttarakhand government portal (devasthanam.uk.gov.in) is mandatory. Biometric registration is also required at Sahastradhara Helipad on Day 1. Our team assists all registered pilgrims with the complete process.

What is VIP Darshan and how does it work?

VIP Darshan means pre-arranged entry passes that allow you to bypass the general queue. At Kedarnath and Badrinath, general queues can run 3–6 hours in peak season. With VIP passes, Darshan is typically completed within 30–45 minutes of reaching the temple.

What happens if the helicopter cannot fly due to weather?

All helicopter operations are weather-dependent and follow DGCA safety protocols. If a flight is grounded, our team reschedules to the next available slot within the tour window. If rescheduling is not possible within the tour dates, we adjust or extend at no additional cost. Force majeure situations are handled per our cancellation policy.

Is the Char Dham helicopter tour available in July–August 2026?

No. Helicopter operations are suspended during July and August due to monsoon conditions — heavy rain, low visibility, and DGCA safety restrictions. The season runs April–June and September–November. Road-based Char Dham tours are available during monsoon months.

Can I book a Do Dham helicopter tour instead of all four dhams?

Yes. We offer Do Dham helicopter packages — Kedarnath and Badrinath is the most booked combination. Contact us for pricing and available dates.

How far in advance should I book the 2026 Char Dham helicopter package?

For May–June season: 45–60 days ahead. For September–October: 30–45 days. Helicopter slots and dham-side hotels are limited — late booking risks non-availability especially for Kedarnath.
