Tour Itinerary

Day 01 Chennai - Tirupati (152 km/ 3 hrs)

Your tour begins with a pick-up from Chennai Airport or Railway Station. The team from Pilgrimagetour will be there to meet you and transfer you to Tirupati. On arrival in Tirupati, check into your hotel. If you choose a guide, they will also come with a driver to help all day.

After pick-up, begin your tour of Tirupati and explore:

  • Tirumala Hills - The area is famous for its seven peaks like Seshadri, Neeladri, Garudadri, Anjanadri, Vrushabadri, Narayanadri, and Venkatadri (best photo spot).
  • Varahaswamy Temple
  • Tirumala Venkateswara Temple - The main temple of Lord Venkateswara (Balaji).

After covering the major sightseeing in Tirupati, return to the Tirupati hotel for an overnight stay.

Note: Varahaswamy Temple is open daily from 5:30 AM to 12 PM and 5 PM to 9 PM.

Day 02 Tirupati Darshan - Vellore - Tiruvannamalai (190 - 194 km / 4.5- 5 Hrs)

  • After having breakfast, go to the famous Srinivasa Mangapuram and Kanipakam temples.
  • Later, drive to Vellore to see the Golden Temple at Sripuram. Dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, its golden design looks so beautiful, and in the evening lights, the temple looks even more magical and has very positive vibes.
  • Continue your journey to Tiruvannamalai. After checking in at the hotel, explore the Annamalaiyar Temple. It covers about 25 acres and is one of the largest Shiva temples in India.
  • Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 03 Tiruvannamalai - Thanjavur - Tiruchirappalli (296 km/ 6 Hrs)

  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Thanjavur for sightseeing. Visit the Brihadeeswara Temple (a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
  • Next, visit Thanjavur Palace, known for its royal architecture (don’t forget to take pictures here).
  • Then, go to Thanjavur Art Gallery, where you can see beautiful old statues, paintings, and historical items from Tamil Nadu’s past. Even those not interested in history will also enjoy here.
  • After exploring Thanjavur, proceed to Tiruchirappalli (Trichy). On arrival, check into your hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Trichy.

Note: Entry fee for the Thanjavur Art Gallery is ₹15-20 for adults.

Day 04 Tiruchirappalli - Madurai (135 km/ 3 hrs)

  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel and start sightseeing in Tiruchirappalli. First, visit Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam, famous for 21 towers, each showing pictures and figures of gods, goddesses. Art lovers are sure to enjoy it!
  • Next, explore Jambukeswarar Akilandeswari Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
  • Then head to Ucchi Pillayar Temple, a Ganesha temple on Rockfort where you can enjoy amazing views of the city (Photography spot).
  • After that, proceed to the Government Museum.
  • Afterward, visit the Tropical Butterfly Conservatory (Butterfly Park), where you can see many colorful butterflies. Close by is Nakshatra Vanam with a beautiful garden, a great picnic spot, and you will also see a small artificial waterfall there.
  • After sightseeing, drive to Madurai. Arrive at the hotel, check in, and spend the night there.

Day 05 Madurai - Rameshwaram (173 km/ 4 hrs)

  • Morning after breakfast, leave the hotel and proceed to Madurai. Visit Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, which is believed to have been damaged by Muslim invaders from the Delhi Sultanate but was later rebuilt with deep faith and devotion.
  • Later, explore the Thiruparankundram Murugan Temple.
  • Next, drive to Rameshwaram, a place deeply connected to the story of Ramayana.
  • On arrival, check in to the hotel. Later visit Ramanathaswamy Temple, Agnitheertham, and Ramjharoka Temple. Overnight stay in Rameshwaram.

Day 06 Rameshwaram - Kanyakumari (312 km/ 7 hrs)

  • Early morning at 5:00 AM, take a holy bath at Ajni Theertham, then proceed for Sphatik Lingam Darshan (also called Mani Darshan), a natural crystal lingam that shines beautifully (not man-made).
  • Inside Sri Ramanathaswamy Temple, visit the 22 sacred wells and take a holy bath called Theerth Snanam.
  • After the holy bath and Darshan, return to the hotel for breakfast. Then start exploring Rameshwaram, including the Five-faced Hanuman Temple, Ramar Patham, Kothandaramaswamy Temple, Gandamadana Parvatham (popular for Lord Rama’s footprint), Rama Setu (Adam’s Bridge), Former President A. P. J. Abdul Kalam’s House, and Dhanushkodi (famous for natural beauty).
  • Later, drive to Kanyakumari, where the Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea, and Indian Ocean meet. Kanyakumari is also famous for its beautiful sunrise and sunset over the ocean.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 07 Kanyakumari – Kovalam – Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) (98 km / 2 Hrs Drive)

  • After breakfast, visit the Swami Vivekananda Rock Memorial, known for its peaceful meditation hall and stunning ocean views. If time allows, spend a few minutes meditating.
  • Then visit the Kumari Amman Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas.
  • You can visit the place where the three oceans meet, and also see the Gandhi Mandapam (where Gandhi’s ashes are kept) and see the Thiruvalluvar Statue of the great Tamil poet.
  • Later, travel to Trivandrum and stop at Suchindram’s Thanumalayan Temple, famous for its impressive architecture and 22-foot Hanuman statue.
  • Continue to visit the Padmanabhapuram Palace, a beautiful old palace mostly built in wooden style (click photos of its wonderful architecture).
  • If time permits, you can also go to Kovalam Beach on the way. Afterward, proceed to Trivandrum. On arrival, check in at the hotel.
  • In the evening, visit the Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
  • Overnight stay at Trivandrum.

Note: Kanyakumari and Thiruvananthapuram can be humid; light cotton clothes are recommended.

Day 08 Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) (Departure)

After breakfast, your tour ends with happy memories as you are dropped at Trivandrum Airport or railway station for your next journey.
