The topmost attraction of this place is the Badrinath Temple, located in the Neelkanth mountain’s backdrop and renowned for its enchanting natural beauty. The Badrinath Temple is located at 10,279 feet height. Adi Shankaracharya established the temple. The temple houses Lord Vishnu’s black stone idol which is 1m tall. This statue is considered one of the eight self-manifested statues of Vishnu or Swayam Vyakta Kshetras.
Tapt Kund is another popular attraction of Badrinath believed to be Lord Agni’s home. It is a hot water spring close to the Badrinath Temple. The water of the Kund has medicinal properties and by taking a dip in this spring, various skin diseases can be cured. When in Badrinath don’t forget to visit Mana village the last Indian village situated nearby the Tibetan - Chinese border. This picturesque village is perched on the River Saraswati banks at 10,000 feet altitude. It is surrounded by the Himalayan Ranges and is known for its scenic beauty. On the side of the Mana Village is Bhim Pul, a massive rock that forms a natural bridge.
