Day 01: Delhi - Evening Leisure
Your tour will start with your arrival in Delhi. Once you have reached Delhi you will meet our friendly tour representative who will greet you with open arms and make the arrangements to transfer you to your pre-reserved hotel in Delhi. You will check in to your hotel and spend the evening as you like. You can relax in your room, explore the nearby sites, or take a tour of the property where you’re staying. At night you’ll enjoy a delectable dinner and then you’ll have a soothing sleep in your room.
Day 02: Delhi - Local Tour - New Delhi & Old Delhi - Chakki Bank (7 Hrs, 482 KM)
On the second day of the tour, you’ll embark on an exploration of Delhi's famous attractions. Relish a luscious breakfast in the morning and then get ready for a guided tour of both New and Old Delhi. This guided tour will provide a glimpse into the rich heritage and culture of India.
In Old Delhi, you will first head to Raj Ghat to give tribute to Mahatma Gandhi the Father of the Nation. Raj Ghat houses the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial which was built to honor him. Next, you will visit the Jama Masjid which is considered to be India’s largest mosque, where the centuries-old prayer system is followed. You can pray in the majestic halls. After absorbing the blissful environment of Jama Masjid, you will head to the Red Fort which symbolizes Mughal power and architectural style. You will then head to Parliament Street to see the Sansad Bhavan which is the seat of Indian administration.
Next, you will visit India Gate which has been built in honor of the Indian soldiers who died in World War I. You will then head to the Qutub Minar, an architectural wonder and a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can learn about India's medieval history. Next, you will visit the Humayun's Tomb, Mughal architecture’s masterpiece. The last destination that you will visit on day two is the Lotus Temple, a serene sanctuary whose design is inspired by Lotus. As the day comes to an end our driver will drop you at the railway station and you will catch the train to Chakki Bank. Alternatively, you can also catch a flight to Gaggal Airport which is located near Dharmshala. Have an overnight stay at your Dharamshala hotel.
Day 03: Chakki Bank – Dharmshala (3 Hr, 90 km) - Local Tour to Namgyal Monastery - Dalai Lama Temple
The third day of the Dalai Lama Tour Package is dedicated to exploring Dharmshala, a picturesque town situated amidst the majestic Himalayan foothills. After arriving at Gaggal Airport or Chakki Bank Railway Station, you will embark on an enjoyable drive to Dharmshala appreciating the splendid landscapes and soaking in the peaceful ambiance along the way. As you reach Dharmshala, you'll see tons of Tibetan settlements, where monks and elderly Tibetans clad in traditional robes engage in spiritual practices like reciting mantras and turning prayer wheels. The serene ambiance of Dharmshala offers the ideal space for contemplation and introspection. You will check in to your pre-reserved hotel and relax for a while. After some time you’ll embark on a local exploration of the famous spiritual sites of the Dalai Lama Temple also known as Namgyal Monastery. The Namgyal Monastery is the fourteenth Dalai Lama’s personal monastery. The foundation of this monastery was laid down by the second Dalai Lama in the sixteenth century and was set up so that the monks could help the Dalai Lama complete his religious affairs. The Namgyal Monastery is the right place to learn about Buddhism. Immerse yourself in the peaceful aura of this spiritual destination and see the monks praying and meditating. In the evening, you will return to your hotel and have an overnight stay.
Day 04: Dharmshala - Local Visit - Leisure
On the fourth day, you will explore the enchanting surroundings of Dharmshala. After a delicious breakfast, you will get ready to enjoy the region’s local ambiance. Today you can spend the day as you like immersing yourself in the picturesque beauty of Dharamshala and interacting with the locals to learn more about the region’s rich culture and traditions. You can wander through the lively streets or try the local cuisines. In the afternoon, you will visit the His Highness Dalai Lama’s Monastery once again. Day 05: Dharmshala – Transfer - Delhi (8 Hr, 482 KM)
On the fifth day of the tour, you will say goodbye to Dharmshala and head to Delhi. Enjoy a lip-smacking breakfast in the morning at your hotel and then you’ll be transferred to Gaggal Airport or Chakki Bank Railway Station for your onward journey.
