Day 01 – Arrival in Srinagar

When you will arrive in Srinagar, you will be greeted with our representative who will you guide companion during this whole journey. The representative will then assist you in transfer to Sonmarg and upon your arrival in Sonmarg, you will be asked to perform all the check-in formalities in your hotel.

After a successful check-in, the whole day is at your disposal to spend the way you like. With that, enjoy your overnight stay in Sonmarg.
Day 02 – Baltal-Amarnath temple-Sonmarg

After having breakfast, you will resume the journey by following a road journey to Baltal which will take you to closest helipad of Amarnath temple. On reaching Baltal, the representative will brief you with some ground rules that you carefully have to abide by. After that, you will board a helicopter for Panjtarni which is the closest helipad for Amarnath temple.

From Panjtarni, the cave is about 6 km away so you may have to walk down the whole path or you can hitch a pony or you can also get a horseback ride. Inside the cave, an ice sculpture in the form of Shiva lingam presides and for which, thousands of devotees come every day to worship and asks for Lord Shiva’s precious blessings. If you are lucky enough, you can also catch a glimpse of the immortal pigeon who lives inside the cave.

After darshan, you will walk down your path to Panjtarni and from there, you will board the helicopter for a ride back to Baltal. On reaching Baltal, the representative will help you in your transfer to Srinagar where a deluxe boathouse stay will be waiting for you.

With that, enjoy an overnight stay at that boathouse and get lost in the serene beauty of Dal Lake.
Day 03 – Departure from Srinagar

After a delicious breakfast, the representative will direct you towards your Srinagar Airport transfer. With that, the representative will greet you for your forward journey and would happily say his goodbye.

Usefull Information

It is mandatory for every registered yatri to collect his or her RFID card from designated locations in Jammu and Srinagar before embarking on the yatra.
Your journey shall involve trekking across high mountains, facing strong cold winds. You must carry
(i) adequate woollen clothing; (ii) a small umbrella (preferably one which is tied with an elastic band around your head and supported by a strap around the chin); (iii) windcheater; (iv) raincoat; (v) waterproof trekking shoes; (vi) torch; (vii) walking stick; (viii) cap (preferably a monkey cap); (ix) gloves; (x) jacket; (xi) woollen socks; (xii) trousers (preferably a waterproof pair).
These items are essential as the climate is highly unpredictable and changes abruptly from sunny weather to rain and snow. The temperature can sometimes abruptly fall to 5 degrees Celsius or lower.
For ladies, a sari is not a suitable dress for the yatra. Salwar Kameez, a pantsuit, or a track suit will be better. Ladies who are more than six weeks pregnant shall not be allowed to undertake the pilgrimage.
Keeping in view the tough nature of the trek, children below 13 years of age and elderly persons above the age of 70 shall not be permitted to undertake the pilgrimage.
You must strictly follow the instructions issued by the Yatra administration, from time to time.
Don’t stop at places that are marked by warning notices.
Don’t attempt any short cuts on the route, as doing so would be dangerous.
Earth, water, air, fire, and the sky are integral parts of Lord Shiva. The Base Camp and the entire Yatra routes are the abode of Shri Amarnathji. Throughout your pilgrimage, you must respect the environment and do nothing to pollute it.
All waste materials must be placed in the nearest trash can. All organic waste must be disposed of in the green dustbin.
