Another noteworthy fact about Adi Kailash is that it is believed that Ravana, the demon king of Lanka, meditated and prayed to Lord Shiva at this same place. He was blessed with the strength of 20 arms and the brains of 10 heads for his devotion to the Supreme God of Creation and Destruction.

Day 01: Kathgodam to Pithoragarh

The beginning of our 7-night and 8-day tour to Adi Kailash will take us to the beautiful mountain city of Kathgodam. It is the last city in Uttarakhand, near Nainital, that is connected by a railway line, making it a perfect place for our travelers to commence their journey.

You will meet with your traveling party at the crack of dawn in Kathgodam, the gateway to Kumaon Hills. First, we will go through a brief orientation and a light breakfast. Then, the group will head straight toward Pithoragarh, which is also affectionately called ‘Little Kashmir.’

En route to Pithoragarh, we will stop at Bhimtal - a lake town that is named after the famed Bhima from the legends of Mahabharata. Further stops on this day include Neem Karoli Baba Ashram (Kainchi Dham) and Golu Devata Temple. We will also stop at the Jageshwar Temple amidst the dense Deodar forests.

As the sun begins to sun, your traveling party will reach the city of Pithoragarh. You can settle in and then take an evening stroll to absorb the local culture.
Day 02: Pithoragarh to Dharchula

The second day of your Adi Kailash tour will begin with a hearty breakfast, something that is necessary for the day ahead. On this day, we will reach the town of Dharchula, a border town near Nepal. You can see the influence of Nepali culture through your own eyes.

The drive to Dharchula will take you through some of the most beautiful and picturesque sights. We will reach the town near lunchtime. Here, you will need to take care of important tasks such as getting an Inner Line Permit and completing a quick health check-up to travel ahead. Don’t worry; our guides will help you every step of the way. After lunch, you are free to look around the city of Dharchula or even gaze at Nepal, which is just across the bridge.

We will stay at Dharchula overnight and get recharged for the next leg of our journey.
Day 03: Dharchula - Gunji

The third day is a big day on our trek to Adi Kailash and Om Parvat. On this day, we will reach the village of Gunji, which is located just on the base of Adi Kailash Parvat.

At the first light of dawn, we will depart from Dharchula. Breakfast will be a quick affair as well. En route to Gunji, we will travel through enchanting villages like Chialekh, Garbyang, and Napalchu, with brief stops. However, you would want to stay for a bit longer as it is nearly impossible to get away from the ambiance of these places, but we must continue on our journey. We will also have lunch during one of these stops.

By the evening, we will reach the village of Gunji. The village, nestled in the lap of the Himalayas, is a sight to behold. We have booked homestays for our travelers in houses that are over 250 years old, offering you a unique glimpse into the life of highlanders.
Day 04: Gunji - Adi Kailash - Gunji

Day 4 is the most important day of the tour. On this day, your traveling party will trek to the top of the summit and then come back to the village of Gunji after offering their prayers and spending some time at the top of Adi Kailash.

Your day will start before dawn as we will start out on the trek to Adi Kailash. This is why you would be advised to get to bed early the night before, to be fresh for the most physically challenging part of this journey. Our first stop will be at the Jolingkong, a site that is near the Adi Kailash. You can rest for a little while and take in the beauty of the surroundings. On the way to the top, you will also find Parvati Sarovar.

The journey down will take you through the Brahma Parvat, Pandava Parvat, and the intriguing Pandava Fort. We will stop for the night at Gunji, planning for the next day, a trip to the Om Parvat.
Day 05: Gunji - Om Parvat - Gunji/ Nabi

If you have opted for the trip to the iconic Om Parvat, then day 5 is your day. We will again start at the break of dawn, but only after a nourishing breakfast. The drive to the Om Parvat is quite short, but it is filled with sights that are both serene and majestic.

You will encounter the Kali Mata Mandir at KalaPani and offer your prayers. We will also get a glimpse of Sheshnag Parvat from a distance. Other sightings include Ved Vyas Gufa. And then we will reach the Om Parvat. You can meditate near this divine natural symbol of Om.

In the evening, we will return to Gunji or Nabi, depending on the journey and the weather conditions. We will stay for the night and prepare for the return leg of the journey.
Day 06: Gunji/ Nabi to Dharchula to Didihat

On Day 6, we are officially on the return leg of the journey. We will get up early, either from Nabi or Gunji (depending on where we have stopped the night before). After a belly-full breakfast, the traveling party will begin the journey back to the home base.

In the first half of the day, we will travel to Dharchula. Upon arrival, we would have to undergo the necessary formalities with the authorities; then, we would head out for lunch.

Post-lunch, our party will continue the journey back, with the aim to reach Didihat/ Chaukori by nightfall. You can spend the night in the comforts of your hotel or stroll within the local city, situated amidst the panoramic beauty of the Himalayas. And that finishes the Day 6.
Day 07: Didihat - Bhimtal

Yatris will rise to the serene beauty of Didihat on the seventh day of the tour. After breakfast, the journey will continue to Bhimtal, marking the penultimate day of this Adi Kailash journey. The ride of the iconic Bhimtal Lake town is picturesque, and we would encourage you to take as many clicks & add them to your memories.

During the travel, we will make a stop at Patal Bhuvaneshwar, allowing you and the traveling party to take a small break. The mystical cave is a fitting epilogue to your spiritual experience.

As the sun begins to set, we will reach Bhimtal, the city seemingly welcoming us in its soothing ambiance. Dinner and an overnight stay next to the backdrop of the placid lake is the perfect end to this day.
Day 08 – Bhimtal to Kathgodam

The final day of this Adi Kailash tour will begin with breakfast. We will then immediately get started on a short ride back to the city of Kathgodam, taking with us beautiful and cherished memories. We will reach Kathgodam by lunch or early evening. We will arrange for you a transfer to the railway station or the bus stand (at your convenience). And this is where our tour and services end.
