Tirumala Tirupati Balaji Temple is one of the most popular shrines in India. The temple is visited by more than 35 million pilgrims every year. It is also believed to be one of the richest shrines in the world. The Temple was built in honour of Lord Venkateswara, Vishnu’s incarnation, who appeared here to save mankind from the troubles and trials of Kali Yuga. It is located at around 853 meters in height on Tirumala Hills which are considered to be part of Seshachalam Hills. It has been constructed in Tamil South Indian architectural style. Opening and Closing Time
Tirumala Tirupati Balaji Temple opens in the morning at around 2:30 am and closes at 1:30 am except on Fridays. On Friday the temple opens at around 2:30 am and closes around 10:30 pm. The time may change according to the festivals and days as per the decision of the temple authority. Visitors can take part in all kinds of sevas, such as Archana, Thomala Seva, and Kalyanotsavam, each offering an extraordinary spiritual experience.
Pooja Timings

- Suprabhatam Seva/ Angapradakshinam: Early in the morning around 2:30 am to 3:00 am Suprabhatha Seva is held wherein you can give your sacred offerings to Lord Venkateswara.
- Thomala Seva (Ekantham): From 3:30 am to 4:00 am Thomala Seva is held. During this pooja ceremony, the presiding deity is decorated with exquisitely tied colourful Tulasi and floral garlands after awakening him with Suprabhata Seva from celestial sleep.
- Koluvu and Panchanga Sravanam (Ekantham): Participate in the formal assembly that is conducted at the temple amidst the peaceful Ethantham from around 04:00 am – 04:15 am. During this ceremony, priests recite temple offerings and activity reports.
- First Archana, Sahasranamarchana (Ekantham): This is the very first worship service that is held from 4:15 am to 5:00 pm. During this sacred ritual, 1,000 names of the deity are chanted and with each name offerings are made.
- VIP Break Darshan: L2 (Employees), L1, L2 (Recommendation Letter), L3: From around 5:00 am to 8:30 am you can enjoy the VIP break darshan experience in designated levels.
- Visesha Puja/ Sahasra Kalasabhishekam / Tiruppavada/ Astadala Pada Padmaradhana: Various special rituals are held from around 6:00 am to 7:00 am. After the second bell on Tuesday, the Ashtadala Pada Padmaradhana Seva is performed.
- Suddhi, II Archana, II Bell: From around 7:00 am to 7:30 am you can partake in various rituals such as Suddhi, II Archana, and II Bell. The priests perform Suddhi wherein the sanctum is cleaned.
- Sarva Darshan/ Divya Darshan/ Special Entry Darshan: From around 8:30 am to 7:00 pm you can have the darshan of the divine darshan of the deity.
- Senior Citizen Darshan/ Physically Challenged Darshan/Patient Darshan: At around 10:00 am, senior citizens, physically challenged individuals, and patients can have the darshan of the deity.
- Kalyanotsavam/ Arjitha Brahmotsavam/ Vasanthotsavam/ Unjal Seva (Dolotsavam)/ Supadam Darshan: You can witness the grand celebration of Kalyanotsavam, Vasanthotsavam, Unjal Seva (Dolotsavam), Arjitha Brahmotsavam and Supadam Darshan from around 12:pm to 7:00 pm.
- Senior Citizen Darshan/ Physically Challenged Darshan/ Patients Darshan: Special darshan slots are available from around 03:00 pm.
- Sahasra Deepalankarana Seva: From 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm Sahasra Deepalankarana Seva is held outside the temple in the Unjal mantapam.
- Suddhi, Kainkaryams (Ekantham), Night Bell: Participate in Suddhi, Kainkaryams (Ekantham), and Night Bell from around 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
- Sarva Darshan/ Divya Darshan: In the late hours from around 8:00 pm to 11:30 pm you can have divine darshan of the deity.
- Suddhi, Preparations for Ekantha Seva: Witness the suddhi preparations and rituals from around 11:30 pm to 12:00 am.
- Ekantha Seva: The pooja ceremonies end at around 12:00 am with the serene Ekantha Seva.
Every Friday, a special Abhishekam is performed from 5:30 am to 6:30 am. During this ritual, Lord Venkateswara is bathed by the priests.
