Day 1 Arrive at Sahastradhara Helipad

Kedarnath is the abode of Lord Shiva and shiv bhaktas book their Kedarnath Helicopter Yatra and arrive at the helipad at Sahastradhara, 1 hour before lift off time as per instructions in order to undergo formalities and for instructions from the pilot and staff.

7 AM Helicopter lifts off from Sahastradhara helipad and pilgrims sit back to enjoy a lovely view of the Himalayan panorama

8.00 AM Helicopter lands near Kedarnath

Unlike other helicopter yatras when one helicopter completes the journey, due to regulations, the helicopter lands at Sitapur/Phata where pilgrims get into another helicopter that takes them onwards to the helipad close to Kedarnath. On arrival, the tour operator’s staff member meets the pilgrims and distributes VIP darshan passes the cost of which is included in tour cost. The VIP passes gain priority entry and pilgrims gain access to the sanctum in time for the aarti and pooja. Pilgrims get a maximum of about 1.5 hours to take a bath in the River and perform pooja before they have to return to the helipad for the return journey. This is due to possibility of weather changing at any time.

11 AM: Pilgrims get into the waiting helicopter that lifts off at 11 AM

12 Noon: Helicopter lands at Sahastradhara where the yatra ends. and the tour operator bid a fond farewell to pilgrims and assist with onward transport assistance if required.
